Land Acknowledgement: We honour the land that we are on, which is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many Indigenous Nations from across Turtle Island, including First Nations, the Inuit and the Métis. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. These nations and this land were subject to the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement to peaceably share and care for the land and its resources. Other Indigenous Nations, and all settlers, immigrants, and newcomers, are invited into this covenant in the spirit of respect, peace, and friendship.
