How You Can Help
Applegrove welcomes gifts of time, goods and money. Because the centre is registered as charitable organization Number 10671 8943 RR0001 with Revenue Canada, Applegrove can provide a charitable receipt for financial donations and donations of new goods.
- Volunteer
- Donations
Thank you for considering a donation to support Applegrove’s work. You can choose whether to direct your gift to a particular program, or let us use it where the centre needs it most. You will receive a charitable receipt. We will write your name with other supporters in the next Annual Report. And you will feel the warm satisfaction that comes from knowing you are building community feeling.
Plus, since the City of Toronto funds the centre’s administrative costs, 100% of your donation will go to work in Applegrove’s programs.
Applegrove does not share its mailing list with anyone. We mail a request for donations only once each year, and volunteers deliver information packages door-to-door in the spring.

Applegrove subscribes to Imagine Canada's Ethical Code for fundraising. For more information about the Ethical Code, you can visit Imagine Canada's website or read the handbook (1.3 MB PDF). If you have concerns about how Applegrove is following the Ethical Code, this document (78 KB PDF) outlines the complaints procedure.
- Financial
There are many ways to give. We gratefully accept cheques and provide a receipt within 10 days. If you would rather give through a series of post-dated cheques, we will send a receipt for the total amount for the year at the beginning of the next year. Maybe you would like to be a “Frequent Donor” within the Edgewood Connection. Perhaps you would like to put your gift on your MasterCard or VISA, either just once or monthly.
Or donate now using your credit card and a secure connection via CanadaHelps.org
- Goods
Perhaps you might provide baked goodies or other food for special events. Maybe you could give clean, lightly used children’s clothes to the clothing exchange in the Applegrove Parent/Child Program. Fundraising events such as Pasta Fest and The SPA at Edgewood look for silent auction items – gift baskets are especially popular! Or talk to program staff about their needs.
Applegrove can provide a charitable receipt for donations of new items but not second-hand goods.
